How about a seaplane ride to St. Thomas for lunch and to do a little shopping with a return flight later in the afternoon? The seaplane departs from downtown Christiansted regularly. The prices are quite reasonable. Don’t like to fly? Try the high speed luxury ferry. The 1 hour 15 ride to St. Thomas is worth the trip. From the ferry dock it is a short walk to downtown St. Thomas. It runs from December through May. Better yet, take the early morning high speed ferry to St Thomas and return latter that day on “Seaborne Air’. The ferry or seaplane operators will book your entire trip. Many operators out of the downtown Christiansted area offer sailboat cruises & snorkeling to Buck island. Buck island is a protected game reserve with a protected underwater park. Check out Black Beard’s for reservations. If you prefer to have a little night life, you may wish to check out the Casino on the Southern part of the island. It will take approximately 20 minutes via taxi to get there. |
